This week in Year 1, our young mathematicians have been busy consolidating their learning by using addition facts to deepen their understanding of subtraction. The children explored this concept through a variety of engaging resources, including Unifix cubes, rekenreks, and whiteboards. These hands-on activities not only supported their problem-solving but also gave them the chance to practice and refine their number formation. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and confidence grow as they discovered different ways to “find a part” in numbers.
