This week in Science and Sustainability Club, we practised our skills using pipettes. We then estimated how many drops of water would fit onto a 1p coin…we thought maybe 5-10 drops. We found that our average amount was actually 21 drops! We reflected and thought about why this might be and came to the conclusion that it was the speed of adding each drop so that the drops can fill the surface of the coin and not overflow.
