Year 5 had a visit from London Fire Brigade last week for a workshop which explained how dangerous fire and smoke are, how smoke alarms work and how to make sure they are working properly. They talked about how to make fire escape plans from homes, what to do if there is a fire, and how to call 999. Did you know that, if you suspect that there is a fire in your home, you should check the door with the back of your hand and you should always move around at a low level to avoid smoke inhalation?
