Year 4 have been studying The Romans this term, and their art focus has been the style and patterns found in Roman mosaics. This week Year 4 designed and made their own mosaic coaster, with the design brief that it must be large enough and flat enough to securely hold a cup of tea, whilst also being aesthetically pleasing. The children used dowel guards to roll their clay to a consistent height, and then added their mosaic tiles, considering colours and patterns.
